Bread Tags Project

Bread tags Project

Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues. There are not enough funds for every wheelchair user to have a customised chair suitable to their level of disability. QASA in turns encourages members to apply for mobility aids which is customized to suit their needs.

QASA facilitates a beneficial bread tags for wheelchairs project. We don’t want to see these bread tags end up in our country’s landfills as they have a good recycling market value. Please keep and collect bread tags, and hand them in at your nearest QASA office or regional association in your area. Contact us for collection should you not be able to bring them to us.

These two issues can be solved with one solution: QASA’s Bread Tag Project!

  • QASA collects the bread tags from schools, communities, social clubs and the general public. The tags are sold to a recycling company and are re-processed into seedling trays and picture frames, cornices and skirtings, outdoor furniture, coat hangers, poles and decking.
  • Funds from the sale of the tags are used to provide a wheelchair.
