Plastic pollution is a pressing environmental issue while the lack of access to assistive devices remains a pressing social issue for wheelchair users. QASA encourages its members to apply for mobility aids that are customised for their needs.

To fund the wheelchairs needed by our members, QASA participates in the Bread Tags and Bottle Tops project. We encourage the community, business and schools to collect bottle tops and send them to QASA for recycling. You can contact us if you are unable to bring the collected items to us.

The bottle tops are sold to a recycling company and re-processed into seedling trays and picture frames, cornices and skirtings, outdoor furniture, coat hangers, poles and decking. Funds from the sale of the tags are used to provide a wheelchair.
