QASA was thrilled to once again participate in the Sabat Power Wheelchair Race hosted by Sabat Batteries at the Zwartkops Raceway during the Cars in the Park event in July. The race was unable to take place over the past two years due to the national lockdown. Fortunately, restrictions were lifted this year and QASA, along with its members, were invited to spend the day with Sabat Batteries.
The day was filled with excitement as members were able to enjoy wonderful food and entertainment provided by Sabat Batteries. There were also 16 motorised wheelchair users given the opportunity to race around a karting track. The first, second and third place winners were awarded trophies. Congratulations to Sonika de Wit who won first place.
We would like to extend our deepest thanks to Sabat Batteries for hosting this wonderful event that always brings joy, but also for its commitment to the organisation and improving the lives of our members. With Sabat Batteries, all our motorised wheelchair users can feel like winners, independent and fast moving.
For over 30 years, Sabat Batteries have provided QASA members with batteries for their motorised wheelchairs. The company has also, very graciously, donated chairs to some of our members. QASA is eternally grateful for such support. We look forward to many more years of partnership and many more races.
