Join our March Employment Workshop

We will be hosting a virtual Employment Workshop on Wednesday, 15 March 2023, at 10 AM. The free-to-attend event serves to educate employers and answer some of their questions regarding the employment of people with disabilities. In the past, the workshop has included discussions on reasonable accommodation, sensitisation and the legalities of employing a person with a disability.

The March Workshop will include a presentation by Lesa Bradshaw, a disability inclusion specialist, on the reasonable accommodation for people with disabilities in the workplace, and another by Ari Seirlis, from the South African Disability Alliance Small Business division, on the value proposition of employing people with disabilities.

Through the workshop, QASA hopes to find employers who are willing to provide placement opportunities for its Work Readiness Programme candidates. The programme is centred on teaching people with disabilities the soft skills required to work in the formal sector. The placement opportunity will serve as practical experience for the candidate.

During the March Workshop, QASA recruitment officer, Dhaneshree Naidoo, will speak about the programme and 5-day work experience. Valentino Barends from Kem Klean will also share his experience of employing a candidate from the programme in a permanent position.

To register for the event, send an e-mail to recruitment@qasa.co.za. Catch the highlights from our previous Employment Workshop here.
