Persons with disabilities are the hardest hit by the economic and health ramifications of the pandemic, and we are seeing NGOs nationwide struggle to keep their doors open to support the most vulnerable in society.
The past two years, due to COVID 19 and social distancing, the sales were low because staff and team members have been working from home and schools were doing online learning. There was way less participation than the previous years. Those schools and workplaces who managed to support made a huge impact on this initiative.
Casual Day 2021 Theme: Courage and Kindness. People with disabilities, at times, experience some challenges in their lives. We need to show them kindness and give them courage in this world. No amount of kindness is ever enough; however it may change a persons life and change yours too.
The QuadPara Association of South Africa, the respective regions and supporters were dressed up in their casual day merchandise and stickers. Some of the entities who supported QASA were Nurture iLembe, Ethekwini Municipality, Happy Valley Preschool and Coastal Farmers Co-Op Ltd Head Office.
Stickers were sold to support the initiative and to raise awareness of disabilities. The day was a fun event where all supporters and team especially with Nurture iLembe participated in various activities. They were hosting a Nurture Olympics on the same day as Casual day.
There was lots of excitement and memories created and everyone came together to stake photos and share their experiences nationally.
